Why Was I Named Nova?
Nova came from the Latin word Novus which means new. In astronomy, a nova is "a star showing a sudden large increase in brightness and then slowly returning to its original state over a few months (Oxford Dictionary)." It also depicts a new star formed in the galaxy as a result of a nuclear explosion. According to Cornell University, novae usually come from white dwarf stars.
My humans not only liked the term or name Nova, but associated it with the birth of a new one after losing their Siberian Husky named Yuuna. I was born to shine light on their lives and serve as a guide toward happiness, contentment, and prosperity despite obstacles that have come forth in their lives.
Most importantly, the importance of my name genealogy is connected with my ancestor Yuuna. In Dota II, I am the protector of Luna and I am the mount of Luna. Together, we stand for Selemene.
